Anchor chain of the 2nd strength category (Grade2) is mainly used to connect the anchor to the hull. Anchor chains are also successfully used in mining and heavy industry, in mines and factories. The chain is equipped with a buttress (spacer), which increases the strength of the link by 20%. The anchor chain is supplied with bows (segments) of 25 meters, which can be interconnected using Kenter links. There are three categories of anchor chain strength: 1 - normal, 2 - increased strength, 3 - high strength.
The chain complies with ГОСТ 228-79, ISO 1704, is accompanied by a certificate of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS). On the end links of each bow there is a marking containing the following information - certificate number, chain gauge, strength category, manufacturer’s mark and RMRS mark.
